This free food offer from The Craic on Soi 22 is a balloon chasers wet dream, especially with kick-off coming just a few days after payday too.

Starting tonight, each Friday from 5pm you can feed your face with tasty bites on the house washed down with some ice-cold beer – which isn’t on the house.

The menu will vary from week to week so you’ll need to show up after work to find out what’s on offer.

So that is your Friday evening sorted, no need to sit stuck in traffic or squashed into the Skytrain at 6pm – bites and beer at The Craic is the answer.

Chequers Is Back In Business This Weekend

Published

on

It’s been almost 12 weeks since Chequers shut its doors and battened down the hatches here in Bangkok.

Despite Soi 4 still being very quiet Chequers are going to open up for food and soft drinks this weekend from Saturday 6th June.

So if you are living here in Bangkok, why not pop down and get some great British pub grub whether it’s a full English breakfast or a cottage pie or even just a bacon butty.

To begin, the menu will be reduced a little for the first few days while the girls get organised in the kitchen.

Chequers will be opening between midday and 8pm initially.

The last 12 weeks haven’t been wasted, and the bar has a whole new look with many improvements both up and downstairs.

The Londoner Opening June 1… And Selling Booze

The Londoner Opening June 1

So it seems that not only will The Londoner be open on June 1st having been shut since late March but you will also be able to buy booze too.

Technically you have to take the alcohol off-site – which means they can do takeaway booze 100% – but the way things are worded on their updates it sounds like there will be an area set up where you can sit and have a drink.

As you’d expect, it is all very vague but reading between the lines, and looking at their promo posters, they plan to be selling sauce, and I’m not talking HP here.

The Londoner Opening June 1

Social distancing regulations will be in play, so no large groups and face masks are requested of all customers who want to sit 2 to a table and shout across the pub to their mates about the EPL restarting or to ask if they are ordering the buy 1 get 1 free on Londoner Brewed Beers (IPA, Pilsner + Low Carb Pilsner).

UPDATE 1/06/2020 9.55am – 2 hours ahead of the reopening, management at The Londoner announced via Facebook they wouldn’t be selling alcohol after all.

The Penalty Spot Will Be Back

Published

The Penalty Spot

I shared a photo earlier today on social media of The Penalty Spot on Sukhumvit Road asking was the bar another COVID casualty as it had a sign posted with a name and number giving the impression the shophouse it stands in was available for rent.

Just to clear up any confusion as to whether The Penalty Spot will reopen or not I can confirm the bar will be back as soon as the government gives the green light.

It’s just a simple case of no booze, no point.

I totally get that, so now that’s been cleared up I’m off to have a cold one.
