Following reports last month that The Tahitian Queen, the longest-running bar in Pattaya, had shut up shop for good comes word the bar is back.

In January TQ closed after the owners walked away following months of financial difficulties keeping the business afloat due to the lack of tourism in the city.

A GoFundMe campaign to raise cash to get the bar back up and running was started by one of the founders fathers in late December but it wasn’t enough to stop the bar closing,

On Friday, The Tahitian Queen returned after a month in the dark and lots of speculation online regarding its future.

TQ opened on Beach Road back in 1978 and was always a popular hangout with old hands and long time visitors.

Good times.

Above Eleven Closed Until Further Notice

With fewer and fewer people out and about plus more and more restrictions at national and provincial levels coming into effect, notices from businesses taking the decision to temporarily close just keep on coming thick and fast.

The latest place to take this tough decision is Above Eleven who published the following statement today.

Dear Above Eleven Guests,

We have made the difficult decision to temporarily close Above Eleven until further notice.

As the COVID-19 situation heightens, we believe this decision is in the best interest of our staff, guests, and the public at large. It truly saddens us that we’re unable to serve you at our venue and we cannot wait to invite you back to Above Eleven soon.

In the meantime, we hope you and your family stay safe! 💚

Take care,

Above Eleven Team

Above Eleven Closed Until Further Notice

Hopefully, Above Eleven and everyone else choosing to close at this stage will be back before we know it.

Chequers Taking A Time Out

Published

chequers closed

Chequers, the popular British pub on Sukhumvit Soi 4, has announced today they will be closing temporarily.

The update on Facebook says due to the recent spike in Covid cases in Bangkok, and the subsequent restrictions imposed by the government, food sales alone is not enough to make it viable to open the doors.

As soon as there is an inkling of a return to some sort of normality, Chequers will open again.
