Get ready for a CHEESY nachos month with all your favourite toppings at Mexicano Restaurante Autentico throughout December.

There’s also an eating contest every Friday and Saturday where you can eat free if you can scoff a kilo of nachos… I like the sound of this.

Finish 1kg of nachos with all the toppings and get it absolutely free PLUS an additional THB 2000 voucher for food and beverage.

Nachos party packs are also available for up to 15 persons.

I’m up for trying this out at the weekend.

A Smashing Sunday Roast At The Kiwi

Published

on

After scoring Scruffy Murphy’s Sunday Roast with a 9/10 Mick the manager at The Kiwi told me I MUST come in one Sunday and sample the roast lamb telling me it would knock my socks off, so a couple of weeks back that’s just what I did.

I went with Mick’s recommendation and ordered the lamb that comes in at 419 baht which includes a soft drink, or a bottle of beer or a glass of wine.

A bowl of soup arrives and I’m thinking, I didn’t order a soup starter but it’s all part of the price, so the lovely young lady serving me said. Nice one.

Now, my best guess was it was Pumpkin Soup but don’t hold me to that as I ate it so quick it didn’t touch the sides and I’m sure they mix it up week by week.

Once the soup was done with it was on to the main course. It arrived piping hot which will always score extra points with Stick as I like my grub roasting, pardon the pun.

Damn it was delicious.

Mick was definitely not pulling my chain when he said it was the business. I could have eaten a plate of just the cauliflower cheese alone never mind the rest of it.

I didn’t do any extras this time around as I was stuffed after the soup and main.

Fat Face opted for the Phad Thai and it got the thumbs up with not a crumb left on her plate.

Other options on the menu include a half chicken or pork roast for 299 baht or there’s beef priced at 349 baht, and just the same as the lamb, you get a drink of your choice with each.

It is certainly value for money and a decent feed in my book.

Note, this is not a sponsored post, and as always I paid my bill. Yes, I’m mates with Mick the manager, but finding a bar where I’m not on friendly terms with either the staff, manager, owner or all 3 is a rarity around Sukhumvit.

Thank You Fatty’s For The Thanksgiving Feast

Published

fattys sign

If you follow me on social media you’ll know I’m a big fan of Fattys Bar And Diner over in Din Daeng as it’s a hop, skip and a stagger from where I live making it (too) handy for a quick beer or five and a bite to eat on any given afternoon, evening or night when I’m too lazy to make my way over to the Sukhumvit Strip.

With the missus away up north all week and me sat at home with an empty belly and nothing to do I decided to wander up the road to Fatty’s for a quiet beer and a burger.

As I got closer and closer the chatter from the outside area got louder and louder and when I reached the bar the place was packed.

WTF? This isn’t band or open mic night… ahh well, I’m here now, fuck it.

I squeeze my way through the bar to get a couple of cold ones as there’s no chance in hell the staff would see me outside. I order two beers as I can’t be arsed making my way through this lot again in 10 minutes for a refill.

Sat in my usual spot outside I spotted many familiar faces who are regulars and a few who are not.

Hearing the conversations around me the penny drops it’s Thanksgiving and Matt the owner has put on a massive free spread for everyone.

The buffet meant the kitchen wasn’t doing orders which meant I’d be going home with an empty belly whenever I decided I’d drank enough.

A really good night, lots of good chat and as it was almost time to check bin Matt’s wife appeared with a big bag of boxes for me…

What a sweetheart.

She must have known old Stick was starving and would be needing a feed when he got home so she kindly packed me up a sample of the Thanksgiving feast for later.

I tucked right in as soon as I got home and boy, it was delicious.

After scoffing the lot I went to bed and slept like an old dog with a belly full of beautiful food.

All I can say is, thank you very much to everyone at Fatty’s,. especially Matt’s missus.
