A variety of famous dishes from around the Siam shopping area will be served in tuk-tuks during the Siam Food Festival at Parc Paragon of Siam Paragon, Rama I, from Friday 7th until Monday 10th July.
Held in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the four-day fest is a rare chance to indulge in outstanding dishes, desserts and beverages from favourite shops and restaurants in the vicinity of Siam, including Rod Dee Det, Doo Dee Siam Noodle and Lim Lao Ngow Restaurant.
Leading restaurants at Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery will also offer their special dishes at the festival. These include Laem Charoen Seafood, Nara, Kang Banphe, Food Republic, My Kitchen, Sansab, Ta Too Noodle, Café Chili and Homsuwan.
The food will be served at tuk-tuk kiosks, where 33 of the kingdom’s iconic three-wheel taxis have been modified by university students to play the role of food trucks especially for this event. On exhibit in a nearby zone will be 10 tuk-tuks, redesigned by 10 artists and celebrities taking inspiration from Thai dishes, rice and fruits.
The festival will also feature a wide range of Thai fruits direct from orchards, including two tonnes of giant durian and pineapples. With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives, sacks of rice grains direct from farmers will be available for purchase.
The grand-opening ceremony will be held tomorrow at 5pm, followed by fun-filled activities with superstars Mario Maurer and Nittha “Mew” Jirayungyurn.
