As you wander down Soi Cowboy the bright lights and neon of the big bars are a draw which means you’ve likely walked past Sam’s 2000 without even noticing it is there but there it is and has been for the past 20 years.
Sam’s 2000 opened quietly in August 1999 and has been serving cold beers and good grub ever since with a loyal following who make it their first stop of the night on the Neon Alley.
Despite it being a one shophouse beer bar located next door to its big sister Tilac, there’s no shortage of eye candy to be had as the dancing dollybirds from next door pull up a stool for a feed on their break.
Sam the owner is always up for a drink and a laugh too and is great company which should come as no surprise as she has been around longer than the bar.
If you’ve never parked your backside at Sam’s, do it next time you’re on Cowboy… and order some food too if you’re needing some fuel, especially the Thai snacks – they don’t call me Fatboy Bangkok for nothing.
