FMD16 – Big Trouble In Little Bangkok

The moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Asia’s favorite MMA promotion are officially back on November 3rd with FMD16: Big Trouble in Little Bangkok.

The event will be in FMD’s hometown of Bangkok, Thailand, and Halloween themed after the 1986 Kurt Russell cult classic, Big Trouble in Little China, set in the mysterious underworld of Chinatown, San Francisco, featuring wise-cracking heroes, Chinese street gangs and magical kung fu ghosts.

Full Metal Dojo events are synonymous with hard hitting cageside MMA action from the best fighters in the region, in a nightclub atmosphere of borderline madness, built on a solid foundation of honesty and integrity, and topped off with a sprinkling of cinematic class and the laughter of ecstatic fans.

Globetrotting prizefighter Glenn Sparv headlined FMD1 and is now ranked the number 1 Middleweight in SE Asia, China and Australasia by Tapology. He will fight for the the inaugral FMD Middleweight Championship against top prospect Mehdi Bagheri who claimed a stunning comeback victory at FMD15.

The kung fu gods are looking for the girl with green eyes! A 4-woman tournament will commence to find her. Starting with Cambodian fighting queen and movie star Tharoth Sam, AKA “Little Frog” as she returns to FMD, on a mission to show her nation’s ancient fighting style of Kun Khmer to the world. She seeks a fellow practitioner of the Art of 8 Limbs to take on in a classic battle of the ages.

In honor of MMA’s global standards of integrity in matchmaking, FMD is introducing a new title – the FMD Interim Openweight Integrity Belt. It will see local favorite, former UFC fighter and FMD Champion Tommy Hayden, take on former Malaysian Invasion host and wrestling coach Matt Pellino. What Matt lacks in MMA experience he more than makes up for in weight advantage, in the first ever exciting installment of the FMD Interim Openweight Integrity Belt!

This fight is being dubbed the “Battle of Bangkok” as two welterweights from Bangkok’s two top MMA gyms go head to head. Both men also formerly represented their opposing gym, so their trainers will know their opponent’s game inside out. Javier Trujillo is an FMD fan favorite with all four of his pro fights taking place in the FMD cage. He will be taking on Daniel Kerr who was last seen fighting in Bangkok at Dare Fight Sports way back in 2012. Will he be ready to take on “The Honey Badger”?
