2 Israelis Jailed 25 Years For Koh Samui Killing

Two Israeli underworld hitmen were sentenced to a quarter-century in a Thai prison for murdering a compatriot in Koh Samui in January.

Eyal Bokel and Dolev Zuarez ran over Maor Malul, 34, and his Thai girlfriend with their rented SUV and then stabbed their countryman to death Jan. 21. They then fled the island by boat and hopped a plane to Bangkok. But immigration police were waiting for the killers when they arrived at Don Meuang International Airport.

Both men have links to the Israeli underworld, authorities said, adding that Bokel is the brother of gang leader Baruch Bokel.

Malul, the member of a rival gang, reportedly tried to assassinate Baruch and failed in 2015. In response, Baruch had hunted down Malul in Thailand two months after he had the victim’s brother killed.
