20 Tourists Injured In Patong Bus Crash

Twenty tourists were left injured with three Thai nationals needing hospital treatment following a six vehicle smash Sunday night on Patong Hill.

A tour bus carrying 21 Chinese tourists and three tour guides lost control while going down Patong hill hitting several other vehicles including a tuk tuk carrying three Japanese holidaymakers.

Emergency services were informed of the accident at around 8.30pm and upon arrival at the scene they found the bus hanging very close to a 10 meter drop.

Witnesses told reporters the bus lost control coming down the hill, hit two minivans sending one crashing into the tuk tuk and another colliding with a motorbike.

The bus driver and the biker were seriously injured and rushed to hospital where they are said to still be in a critial condition. The tuk tuk driver was treated for a broken wrist.

An investigation into the cause of the crash has been launched.
