An American expat is facing charges of having sex with minors and selling videos of his illegal encounters online, according to Thai media.
57-year-old Ryan Jae Song, an American of Korean decent, was arrested last Thursday in Udon Thani after he was discovered in a rented room with a girl, aged just 17.
Police were tipped off by a concerned member of the public that Song was paying minors for sex on a regular basis.
Acting on the tip-off, police raided a room on Pracha Uthit Road where they discovered the accused and a 17-year-old named as Miss “A” who was laid on the bed wrapped in a towel.
During a search of the premises, officers found Viagra, a used condom, lube, and various sex toys.
Images and videos of the suspect having sex with dozens of women were found on a computer with police believing the American was selling his homemade movies on the internet.
A scuffle broke out between Song and cops when they uncovered his digital stash when the suspect attempted to smash the evidence, despite claiming they were for personal use and not for sale online.
Miss “A” told investigators she had sex with Song numerous times and was paid between 700-800 baht each time. She also said Song had also been with several of her friends.
The suspect was detained and initially charged with having sex a minor without parental consent. Police said charges regarding the sale of pornographic videos may follow pending the outcome of further inquiries.
