Anti-Government Protest Leader Headbutts Russian Man At Pattaya Rally

A 52-year-old Russian man was attacked by an anti-government protestor at a rally being held in Jomtien, Chonburi Province on Sunday night.

The incident happened shortly after 6pm, when a small group of protesters gathered at Jomtien beach where Wanchalerm Kunsen, Narathiwat “Ken” Khamma, and Sirawith “Ja New” Serithiwat spoke to the crowd of locals and foreigners who’d gathered in both Thai and English.

Narathiwat Khamma headbutted Russian national Vladislav Timokin leaving him with a bloody nose following an argument between the pair.

Prior to being physically assaulted it is unknown what was said between the pair.

Following the unprovoked attacked, Vladislav’s 10-year-old daughter who was stood by his side when he was headbutted went into a state of hysterics.

Both men were invited to Pattaya Police Station to discuss the matter.

Iranian With Fake German Visa Arrested At Swampy

An Iranian national with a fake German visa was arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport last week after ticketing staff notified Immigration police that they suspected the passport had been tampered with.

Immigration chief Lieutenant General Sompong Chingduang told reporters at a press conference staff from Singapore Airlines contacted his department when they noticed abnormalities with the visa when the unnamed Iranian attempted to purchase a ticket to travel to Munich via Singapore.

Officers contacted the German Embassy in Bangkok who quickly confirmed the ticketing staffs suspicions – the visa was fake, confirming they hadn’t issued one with the same serial number to an Iranian national.

The man was immediately arrested and charged with falsifying documents. He was remanded in custody pending a court appearance.

Students And Elderly Take Their Chances On Bangkok Overpass Wrecked By A Truck

Young students and elderly locals are risking their lives on a badly damaged and dangerous pedestrian overpass in Bangkok damaged by a minivan on Monday evening with calls for authorities to close it due to safety concerns.

The overpass, close by the Samae Dam Market in Bang Khun Thian district, was left badly damaged after an accident involving a minivan at around 4pm on Monday evening, however, district officials have failed to fence off the bridge to stop the public from using it until repairs were carried out.

Young kids heading to school Tuesday and Wednesday morning had to take their chances using the wrecked stairway on the overpass as it seemed safer than trying to dodge eight lanes of traffic to reach their school on the opposite side of the road.

Locals are also concerned the overpass may collapse and are calling for local authorities to close and repair it asap.

Update & Correction – The overpass has now been closed to the public by local authorities after being hit by a minivan, not a truck as originally reported.
