Argentinian Who Robbed Chinese Tourists At Knifepoint Arrested

An Argentinian tourist who robbed two Chinese tourist at knifepoint last week in Phuket was arrested on Monday morning, according to local news.

Nahum Pedre, 25, confessed to two robberies at two locations last Friday stealing almost 50,000 baht, two iPhones and a number of other items from his victims.

Police were made aware of the robberies after receiving reports from two separate parties who were threatened by a foreigner carrying a knife who made off with their belongings on a motorbike in the Karon area of the island.

Pedre told police he was due to fly back to his homeland today and claimed he’d carried out the robberies to raise money for his sick wife back in Argentina.

He was charged and remanded in custody pending further legal proceedings.
