Police On The Hunt For Drunk Driving Monk

Local officials in Chaiyaphum are on the hunt for a drunk monk who fled after he was caught behind the wheel plastered.

The chief of tambon Non Thong said he was forced to remove Phra Suksan Kanyen, 35, from a black Honda Accord to prevent an accident after the car was seen swerving all over the road close to a school.

Another man, also drunk, was in the front passenger’s seat. Both men were unable to speak or stand properly due to the amount of booze they’d consumed.

Phra Suksan was brought to his temple where he was to be defrocked on Tuesday, however, in the morning he was nowhere to be found and was spotted by locals behind the wheel speeding and driving dangerously.
