Body Of Missing French Diving Instructor Found In Surat Thani

The body of a Frenchman who has been missing for two weeks was discovered today in Surat Thani, according to police.

Jean-francois Louet, 46, mysteriously disappeared after going to find a convenience store before he was due to travel by ferry to Koh Tao with his girlfriend on the night of Monday 14th March.

His body was discovered on Tuesday at around 11.30am in a banana plantation behind Thidamaepra School in the Talard area of Surat Thani with his shorts removed and laid two meters away from the corpse.

An initial examination of his body by a medical examiner at the scene found no wounds or injuries and said he had been dead for around 15 days.

The body has been sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death with investigators telling reporters they will await the results of the examination to determine how they will proceed with the case.

Louet was returning to Koh Tao where he worked as an instructor for Golden Divers following a trip to Indonesia with his girlfriend.
