The boyfriend of the pregnant British woman killed last week in Phuket in a motorbike accident has been charged with causing death by reckless driving.
Danny Glass, 30, sustained only minor injuries when he lost control and crashed the motorbike the couple were riding on when he suddenly braked to avoid a car.
His partner, 41-year-old Sophie Anderson who was six month pregnant with their child, fell into the path of an oncoming 18 wheeler and was killed instantly.
It was initially reported Mr Glass pulled out to pass a parked car and collided with the 18-wheeler. However, the following day he took to YouTube and gave a different version of events.
He said: “I was driving straight forward and went to brake because a car all of a sudden broke in front of me and the bike has slid and wobbled.
“I tried to stabilise it, I haven’t been able to, it’s two people on a scooter so it’s a very difficult thing to do.
“The bike has slid to the right side and I’ve gone into ‘fight or flight’ mode.
The truck driver, Nattawoot Kimchue, 30, has also been charged with causing death by reckless driving.
Police said the case would go to court once the autopsy results were made available.
