British Couple Arrested In Phuket For Stealing Smartwatch

A British couple have been arrested in Phuket after allegedly stealing a smartwatch from a gadget store.

Andrew Ash, 59, and his partner Shelley Mary-Rose Glass, 63, had been on holiday in Phuket when they visited the shop on Tuesday evening.

CCTV shows Andrew lifting the 12,900 baht watch from a display shelf before the woman drops it into her black handbag.

When staff noticed the item missing they checked CCTV and called the police after spotting the couple stealing the watch.

The pair were soon arrested and confessed during questioning, however, they weren’t charged after agreeing to pay compensation to the shop owner and were free to continue their holiday.
