Burning Taxi Nearly Blows Bangkok Petrol Station Sky-High

It wasn’t quite the Hollywood explosion and flying bodies expected when a taxi caught fire at a Natural Gas Vehicle Station in Bangkok.

No one was hurt, nothing blew up and only a cab was damaged when flames broke out Tuesday at Susco NGV Station on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road near Kasetsart University.

Cabbie Chanyut Chadamon said everything was going boringly normal when, just as he topped up the tank, smoke started pouring out of the engine followed by sparks.

Everyone within sight or earshot of flaming car ran for the hills, expecting the entire service station to blow sky-high.

Chayut and a few other brave souls pushed the burning car away from the station and watched it burn.
The station is currently closed.
