A delivery driver was killed and several others hospitalised on Saturday morning as two gangs of motorbike taxi drivers went to war on a Bangkok street.

The 20-year-old Kerry Express driver was visiting a friend in a sub soi off Sukhumvit 103 when he was hit by a stray bullet as dozens of motorsai men ran amok with guns, knives and metal poles.

Police were on the scene as the battle commenced just after 11am but were outnumbered and most definitely not in control of the situation.

Another man was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound and another who had been stabbed. Both are reported to be in a stable condition.

At the time of publishing no arrests had been made but CCTV from the area was being scrutinized by detectives.

Thai media report the brawl broke out between the two gangs after a new stand opened close to an already established one.
