Canadian Suspected Of Robbing Singapore Bank Arrested In Thailand

A young Canadian with giant sized balls who is the chief suspect in a bank robbery was arrested in a budget hostel in Bangkok on Sunday at the request of authorities in Singapore

Last Thursday, July 7th, 26-year-old David James Roach walked into a branch of Standard Chartered Bank at Holland Village in Singapore and handed a piece of paper to the teller.

The note read: “This is a robbery. I have a weapon. Give me money. Don’t call police”.

The woman handed over 30,000 Singapore Dollars, the equivalent of around 780k baht, and Roach about turned, walked out the bank and headed straight to the airport.

No gun, no mad dash, no getaway car. Nothing. He just lifted the loot and walked away.

Thai immigration said the Sydney born man had visited the country many times on a Canadian passport in the past and his last entry was Thursday. It didn’t take long to track him down and cops were in the right place on Saturday, Boxpackers Hostel in the Ratchathewi area, but the suspect was nowhere to be seen.

The boys in brown stopped in again on Sunday and nabbed their man.

He will be paraded at a press conference on Wednesday when we’ll find out if he is being sent to Singapore to face questioning and charges.
