Canadian Tourist Attacked In Pattaya Bar Bill Dispute

Today’s lucky winner of the “Tourist Beaten Up By Staff In A Pattaya Bar Over An Unpaid Bill” award goes to 43-year old Canadian Darryl McKinnon who was left with a serious cut to his head after it all went pear-shaped in a Soi 7 bar in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At 5am, yes 5am long after the lights should be out and the doors locked, police were called to Angel’s Place Bar following reports of a disturbance and upon their arrival they found Mr McKinnon and a female member of staff in a bloody mess.

The long and short of the story is the Canadian was on the sauce and when it came time to pay up he had other ideas with witnesses telling cops he tried to do a runner. A fight broke out when staff tried to stop him and during the slugfest someone crowned him with a sharp object cracking his head open.

All those involved were taken down the station and patched up as they gave their side of the story but the batty bar girl was still out for blood and tried to attack the Canadian several times. Cops were on the receiving end of her fury too as she kicked out at them when they restrained her.

Mr McKinnon was taken to hospital to have his head stitched up and the others involved were detained pending further investigation and questioning of witnesses.

God Bless Pattaya…
