Cops Crackdown On Khaosan Laughing Gas Vendors

Police and officials from the Food And Drug Administration descended upon Khaosan Road Thursday night to crackdown on vendors selling balloons filled with laughing gas.

The charge was led by the Chanasongkram Police chief who told reports invited along for the PR stunt that he’d been reliably informed laughing gas was being openly sold on the street to tourists.

Nine arrests were made and all charged.

If found guilty they face up to five years behind bars and/or a 10,000 baht fine for selling medication without a permit and 3 years and/or a 5,000 baht fine for trading in unregistered drugs.
