Couple Anger New Neighbours With Pet Leopard

A couple sparked anger from their new neighbours after moving into a house with a pet leopard.

Nittaya Issarasilp, 47, and her western husband relocated to Chonburi four days ago with their unusual animal. But the four-year-old predator named Typhoon had been frightening neighbours as he was seen walking around the garden.

Anxious neighbours were concerned that he could escape and attack people. They complained to the local council to check it was legal.

Officers from the Department of National Parks visited the couple yesterday following the complaints and found the fully grown leopard relaxing on a bed.

An order was issued stating the animal must stay within the compound of the house at all times. The house walls must also be fortified to prevent the animal from escaping.
