Danish Man Dies After Parachute Fails To Open During Jump

A Danish man died after his parachute failed to open during a jump near an airfield in Chonburi earlier this afternoon.

Pol Col Khongsak Boonsuesuwan, chief of the Nong Kham police station in Sri Racha district, told reporters the incident happened at the jump site near the Nong Khor reservoir at around 12.30pm.

The 30-year-old Danish man was found unconscious with blood coming from his mouth and nose. He was given first aid at the scene before being taken to Phayathai Sriracha Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Local media report that everything was in order with his equipment before he boarded a light aircraft for the jump.

Police are investigating to find out the exact cause.
