Deep Cleaning Bangkok

Soldiers and city works have been hard at it all week cleaning the streets of Bangkok day and night in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Sakonthi Pattiyakul the Deputy Bangkok Governor told reporters all 2,098 bus stops will be deep cleaned twice times a day at 14.00 and 21.00 with disinfectant before being wiped down with 70% alcohol.

The deputy governor said, “This will continue until Covid-19 improves. The public workers are angels of Bangkok, every single one of them across the 50 districts.”

“They will continue to clean all public areas all day, no small spots will be missed such as the staircase handles on the bridges, the bus stops, public walkways and chairs. Deep cleaning at least 2 times a day, give them some encouragement”.

Commander in Chief, Royal Thai Army Gen. Apirat Kongsompong ordered the Royal Thai Army Chemical Department into action to disinfect all public areas that may be risky in Covid-19 including Rama 1 Road, Pathum Wan, Rachaprasong Road, and China Town.

Meanwhile, the operators of the Skytrain system informed the media that all BTS trains arriving at Kasetsart University BTS Station between 13.30-15.00 will be disinfected thoroughly before returning to service.

Every BTS stations will be deep cleaned 4 times a day at 5.30-6.00, 10.30-11.00,15.30-16.00, and from 20.30-21.00.

At the end of each night, all trains will then be disinfected again.
