Drink-Driving Brit On Overstay Arrested In Pattaya

A Brit faces being deported from Thailand after he was arrested and charged with drink-driving in Pattaya earlier this week.

The 61-year-old tourist, named as Ian Duncombe, was stopped and breathalysed by cops from the traffic division who found his alcohol level was over the limit leading to a drink-driving charge that resulted in a 2,000 baht fine.

Pattaya Traffic Police then handed Mr Duncombe over to Chonburi Immigration Police as he was found to have overstayed his visa.

Pol. Col. Prapansak Prasansook, chief of Chonburi Immigration Police, said Duncombe told officers he was just visiting Thailand and had overstayed by four days, adding the Brit had agreed to pay all fines and leave the country.
