A construction worker was so fed up with his boss that he got sozzled before visiting a Chonburi cop shop where he asked the duty officer to arrest him so he could have a holiday away from work.
Police Major Sakda was baffled by the request but took down the man’s details to pacify him before asking the reasoning behind his bizarre request.
It turned out 37-year-old Jetsada from Sisaket was down in the dumps with his job on the building site across the road from the police station and he hadn’t committed any crime other than stupidity.
The charade continued with a breathalyzer test that went through the roof as Jetsada had down a full bottle of whisky before showing up at the station to drown his sorrows.
Eventually, Major Sakda talked him round and Jetsada’s plan for a week of R&R behind bars was forgotten as he planned on returning to work the next day.
