Eight New Stations Open On BTS / MRT

Eight New Stations

Getting around Bangkok just got a little bit easier this week with four new stations opening on the northern extension of BTS Green Line plus four more on the MRT Blue Line.

Following the opening of Ha Yaek Lat Phrao station last August, from today the Sukhumvit line now goes all the way to Kasetsart University with stops in between at Phahon Yothin 24, Ratchayothin, Sena Nikhom.

Trips on the new section will be free until January 2.

11 more stations are due to come into service by the end of 2020.

The MRT has also opened four new stops going from Tao Poon towards Tha Phra – Bang Pho, Bang O, Bang Phlat, and Sirindhorn. These will operate from 10am to 4pm during testing and will be free for commuters.

By early 2020, another four stations along the line – Bang Yi Khan, Bang Khun Non, Fai Chai, and Charan 13 – will become operational and complete the Blue Line loop to Tha Phra.
