Farrang Beaten Up In Pattaya Bar Bill Dispute

A foreigner who did not wish to be identified was found sat outside Showgirls Bar on Soi LK Metro at around 4am on Tuesday morning by Pattaya police with a bloody face following a dispute inside the bar over his bill.

Witnesses say he refused to pay his bill that totaled 4,130 baht and ripped it up leading to “other guests” beating him up for causing trouble.

However, police weren’t buying that version of events and asked the manager of the bar to let them see the CCTV footage only to be informed the cameras were out of action.

The injured farrang was taken to hospital for further treatment to his injuries only for him to discharge himself a short time later claiming he feared for his safety.

The manager of the venue was taken to the station to face various charges relating to the venue being open beyond its permitted hours, which if you read While Bangkok Sleeps, Pattaya Bars Get The Green Light For 4am Closing you’ll recall it is 2am and that the Pattaya police chief Col. Apichai Krobpetc said any venues flouting the new rules would be prosecuted and shutdown for five years.

The police investigation continues and so far no charges have been pressed.
