Ferris Wheel Fire At Dinosaur Planet

A pod on the Ferris wheel at the new Dinosaur Planet theme park in Bangkok burst into flames on Saturday afternoon and fortunately no one was on the five-storey high ride at the time.

The fire broke out around 2.30pm and was brought under control in less than 20 minutes by firefighters from the Klong Toey station.

An investigation by officials is underway with initial reports suggesting it was caused by an electrical fault or short-circuit, with many on social media commenting the Dino Eye had been struck by lightning.

Dinosaur Planet updated their Facebook page stating no visitors or employees were injured and the park would be temporarily closed.
