A Finnish man was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday after he fell from the second floor of a building under renovation in Pattaya.

Emergency services were called to the Midnight Mall on Soi BJ at around 2.30am and found 61-year-old Hussein Maher laid on the ground with serious injuries.

Rescue volunteers administered first aid at the scene before taking Mr Maher to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

A friend of the injured man told police the Finn owned the building and he possibly slipped as he inspected the renovation work being carried out.

Police said they would interview Mr Maher when he recovered from his injuries to establish the cause of his fall.
