The leader of a notorious French crime syndicate who was on the run from robbery and attempted murder charges has been arrested hiding out in Thailand.
26-year-old Kraiba Safy was paraded at a press conference at the Immigration Bureau in Bangkok today following his arrest on Friday in the Silom area of capital.
Police said they arrested the French national on an arrest warrant issued by the Court of Draguignan in southeastern France on 11th December 2015 on suspicion of robbery and attempted murder relating to the trafficking of substantial quantities of cocaine.
Safy had fled France and sought refuge in Spain before his arrival in Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport on December 13th where it’s believed he then headed to a hideout in Rayong province.
He will remain behind bars pending the completion of paperwork to deport him back to France.
