German Who Refused Medical Help After Balcony Jump Dies

A German expat who refused medical help after jumping from the fourth floor of his Pattaya condo died on Monday morning.

Andreas Ronge, 34, was found at 5am by police and rescue volunteers with a broken arm he sustained after he jumped following a bust-up with his Thai girlfriend.

Local media report he refused help and advice to go to the hospital for a check-up leading emergency services to leave when their pleas fell on deaf ears.

A short time later they were called back where they found Ronge laid dead with his girlfriend sat beside him in tears.

The 26-year-old woman told police the couple had been arguing and the deceased jumped, adding he had threatened to take his own life many times before.

The body was sent for an autopsy and the German embassy in Bangkok informed of the death.
