HIV Czech Cuffed In Phuket

Phuket police arrested the HIV infected Czech man wanted on an Interpol Red Notice for allegedly infecting others with the virus in his homeland on Tuesday night following a tip-off from a member of the public.

Zdenek Pfeifer, 49, was arrested at the Silaa apartment building in Choeng Thale around 7pm on Tuesday evening, less than 12 hours after an appeal by Thai police to the public for help in locating the deviant.

Pfeifer was spotted by a member of the public in a branch of Tesco Lotus who recognised hm from Thai news reports broadcast earlier in the day.

The unidentified man confronted the Czech who made excuses to staff and police in a bid to evade justice when they attempted to apprehend the fugitive.

After fleeing the supermarket on a motorbike, Pfeifer arrived at his rented room to find officers waiting on him after the landlady had informed cops the man she’d seen on TV that afternoon was a tenant of hers.

Pfeifer attempted to lie his way out of the situation by telling cops he was Italian, however, his story was soon swept aside down at the station when his fingerprints were compared to the wanted mans details.

The Czech was swiftly transferred to Bangkok where he is now being held pending legal proceedings to extradite him back to the Czech Republic.
