An early morning fire at Khon Kaen aurport led to its closure for several hours with several flights diverted to Udon Thani.
Emergency services were called to the airport at around 5am after a blaze broke out in the electricity control room on the third floor of the main building.
Firefighters soon had the situation under control, however, inbound and outbound flights had to be diverted to Udon Thani Airport with passengers going in both directions being transported by bus.
It is believed the fire started due to a short circuit with a full investigation into the cause of the blaze underway.
At the time of writing the airport was still closed but airport officials hoped to be back in business by Friday afternoon.
Passengers planning to use the airport are advised to contact their airline for further information regarding their flights.
