Half Moon Party

Koh Phangan district chief officer Krirk-krai Songthani has said the islands ban on Full Moon parties has been lifted but organisers must ensure all events are drug-free and not held on the beach.

The news comes following a meeting yesterday with business owners and district officials to reach a compromise following the ban of all parties except the monthly money spinning Full Moon Party back in April.

It would appear that those in charge have come to realise that the FMPs are one of the islands biggest selling points and are now backtracking with a lengthy list of rules and regulations for those wishing to hold the world famous all-nighters.

Three operators have already been granted permission to hold events in the coming months which will see a return for the Half Moon, SRA Manohra and Cheeva Moon parties.

The owner of the company who hold the Half Moon Party, Mr Pee Patanasdiri, welcomed the news and promised all business operators will give full co-operation and abide by all the new conditions set out by the local authorities with an emphasis on cleaning up the sale and use of drugs.
