Late Night Swim On Koh Tao A Moldovan Tourists Last

An autopsy is planned for a Moldovan who went for a late night swim on Koh Tao and never came back alive.

The body of Alexandr Bucspun, 33, was pulled out of the sea off Sairee Beach Tuesday afternoon. His mobile phone, hotel key, clothes and shoes were found on the sand.

Police said Thursday the cause of death was drowning, most likely an accident, however, investigators would wait until an autopsy was done at Police General Hospital in Bangkok where the body was sent yesterday before making any conclusions.

Bucspun arrived in Thailand at on Sept. 26 and was staying at the Monsoon Gym and Fight Club on Koh Tao.

A security guard for a scuba diving company spotted the Moldovans clothes and property on the beach at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. When he passed by at 3 a.m. he called police. Marine rescuers took hours to find his body.
