Gunman Involved In Police Gunfight Arrested

The driver of the green Toyota Corolla involved in a high speed chase and gunfight in Pathum Thani province on Monday afternoon has been captured by police.

A manhunt was launched after Rungroj Suaprang, 26, fled the scene of the incident that left two officers and a woman injured.

Dashcam footage of the incident has been widely shared on social media.

Police said Rungroj had ran a routine police checkpoint and officers gave chase. When the gunman was boxed in he didn’t go down without a fight and rammed several vehicles after one officer shot out a tyre before pulling out a gun and letting off several shots as he made a run for it.

He was eventually found hiding out in a wooded area close to the scene of the gunfight.

It was reported he is wanted on a string of drug related charges, possession of illegal firearms and attempted murder which explains why he didn’t stop at the checkpoint.
