Missing Brit Found Dead In Cha-am

The body of a British man missing for three weeks was found in a forest close to the beach in Cha-am on Wednesday, according to Thai media.

48-year-old Martin Wood from Exeter disappeared on December 30 during a family holiday to the area.

Despite an extensive search and the offer of a reward, the discovery of the body was only made on Wednesday with an employee of the hotel where Mr Wood had been staying confirming the identiy.

Police told reporters there were no signs of foul play adding the deceased suffered medical problems and was a heavy drinker.

The body was sent to King Mongkut Memorial Hospital for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
