Navy Boat Crashes Into Bangkok Bridge

HTMS Surin and Krungthep Bridge were both left damaged following a minor accident on Thursday morning, according to Thai media.

The 112.5 meter long landing ship was en route to the Naval Dockyard Department in Samut Prakan following repairs at the Bangkok Dock Company when the incident occurred.

According to a navy spokesman high winds and strong currents were the cause of the crash that left the ships 21 meter high mast needing some work to put it right.

Bangkok Dock, whose tugs boats were overseeing the safe passage of HTMS Surin, said they would foot the repair bill for the bridge and boat.
