A gang selling marijuana online have been busted by police with 12 men placed under arrest following raids by police in Bangkok, Pathum Thani and Ayutthaya.
The arrests came after a joint investigation by the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Thonglor police that seen nine men cuffed at a car shop on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 24/3 in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district.
3 kilos of marijuana and 1kg of magic mushrooms were taken into evidence.
In a second raid, a 24-year-old man was arrested with 1.5kg of marijuana in the car park at a shopping mall in Pathum Thani.
Officers also arrested another suspect with 2kg of marijuana and seven marijuana plants at a house in Bangkok’s Phaya Thai district.
Next on the hit list was a Chinese man who had 1kg of marijuana at his house in Bang Pa-in district of Ayutthaya which led to the seizure of 317 marijuana plants at a building in Bang Kapi.
According to police, the seized marijuana combined had a street value of around 6 million baht.
The busts came following a tip-off about a Line Chat group called “Heaven Herb” that boasted 6,000 members selling ganja to both Thais and tourists.
