Over 100 Street Prostitutes Arrested In Bangkok

Police arrested over 100 street prostitutes on Thursday night in various locations around Bangkok as the Metropolitan Police Bureau Commissioner continues his mission to rid the city of vice.

All in all 104 arrested were made including 10 male prostitutes and all were paraded today at a press conference – with some amusing poses from the ladies of the night who aren’t shy how they earn a living. However, as you can see from the photo above, most were hiding their faces from photographers in a bid to save their families and friends any embarrassment.

Over 100 Street Prostitutes Arrested In Bangkok

Police informed the press they targeted Sanam Luang, Rama 2 Rd near Lumpini Park, the open space near Makkasan railway station and finally around Wongwian Yai roundabout.

The operation didn’t involve any farrang hooker hotspots so your favourite Sukhumvit streetwalker should be in her usual spot if you are looking for a cheap thrill and a free STD.

All were charged with causing a disturbance to others and committing shameful deeds in the public.

Pol Lt Gen Sriwarah Rangsiphramanakul is on a roll this week with his division carrying out raids on two after-hours nightclubs in the early hours of Thursday morning, and now targeting street prostitution. I wonder what he has up his sleeve for the weekend?
