Pakistani Arson Suspect Arrested In Sukhumvit Hotel

A 46-year-old Pakistani national suspected of killing 259 people in an arson attack back in 2012 was arrested on Friday night at a hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 3.

Abdul Rehman, who goes by the nickname Bhola, was detained at the Royal Garden Home hotel by officers from the Crime Suppression Division who were accompanied by Interpol officials.

Bhola is believed to be the ringleader of the gang suspected of setting fire to a textile factory in Karachi on 11th September 2012 in which 259 people were killed and 50 others seriously injured.

It’s alleged Bhola and his gang extorted money from local businesses and that a demand to the factory owner for the equivalent of 7 million baht but when the owner refused, the gang torched the factory full of workers.
