Pattaya Massage Shop Owner Files Defamation Complaint Against Foreign Vlogger

A Pattaya businesswoman has filed a complaint with police over a video made by a foreign vlogger who suggested sexual services were available at her massage shop.

Samang Jermpaen, 47, denies claims made by “Thailand Ric” that her traditional Thai massage shop offered extras to tourists and went to police last Saturday to file a defamation complaint.

She told police it damaged not only her repuation and that of her business but also the image of Pattaya and Thailand.

The video making the claim was uploaded to YouTube and was widely circulated clocking up over 6,000 views, however, it has since been removed.

Thai media report that officers from the computer crime division are working with Pattaya police in a bid to track down “Thailand Ric” to bring him in for qquestioning.
