Pattaya police have launched an investigation into the death of a Swedish man who was found dead in the early hours of Wednesday in his Pattaya condo.
The body of 62-year-old Sten Lundholm was discovered on the 10th floor of the View Talay Condominium just after midnight by a barmaid from the Swede’s local watering hole and a security guard who unlocked the room after getting no response.
When officers and medics arrived at the scene they found the body of the deceased in the bathroom on his knees with his head in a large bucket and a bag of golf clubs over his right shoulder. An initial examination uncovered bruising on the body and concluded he’d been dead for five or six hours.
A note addressed to his friends and family read: “I love Thailand and Thai people but have no power anymore”, was found in the room that officers said did not show any signs of a struggle or robbery, however, at this stage murder has not been ruled out as a possible cause of death.
The body has been sent for autopsy and statements taken from the barmaid and security guard with the investigation ongoing as officers await the results from the pathologist.
