Police Seek Clues To Death Of French Woman On Koh Samui

Police are trying to determine if a French woman found dead in the sea in Koh Samui died of an accident or was murdered.

Isabel Bailey, 42, had suffered a skull fracture and bruising when her body was pulled from the water around mid-day from Thong Kate Bay. Authorities estimate the fully clothed woman had been dead several hours.

A friend who came to the beach after learning of the gruesome discovery said Bailey, a student at a language school on Koh Samui, had left that morning on her motorbike to visit a waterfall.

The location of that motorbike may very well shed light on what happened to the woman.

Police refused to speculate on the possibility she was killed or whether she could have fallen and hit her head on a rock at the waterfall with the body washing into the ocean.

As officers carried out a search of the house on the second floor they found 60 marijuana plants, 99 grams of dried weed and cannabis oil plus scales, vacuum packaging equipment, and plastic bags used for distributing and selling drugs.

The American husband of the visa forger claimed the cannabis was for personal use. Police dismissed his claims and cuffed him.

The couple were handed over to Bang Chan police for further legal proceedings.

UPDATE: Thai Visa Center has denied any wrongdoing and claims all visas they have assisted in obtaining are legal and legit stating the woman taken into custody was a former “staff member”.
