From February 15th, 2019 onward all Rabbit Cards will need to be registered for identity verification purposes, according to an announcement by the company on Monday.

The statement said Rabbit Cards are required to be registered for identity verification purposes (KYC: Know Your Customer) according to the Anti-Money Laundering Act, B.E. 2542.

Unregistered Rabbit Cards will still be usable, however, the next time you top up or add trips, the card owner will be asked to show their ID card (or passport, in the case for a foreigner) to register before money or trips can be added.

Registration can be done at any BTS or BRT station or at the Rabbit Service Center located within Siam BTS station.

All the info you need plus a Q&A are below … now get ready for those massive queues.
