A retired army officer has been charged following a hit and run incident on Sukhumvit Road on Wednesday afternoon that left several vehicles damaged as he attempted to flee the scene.
Smartphone footage went viral soon after the incident that seen 76-year-old Surasak Jitboon, a former Major General, try to evade bikers who chased him after he hit a motorbike and drove off.
The vigilantes caught up with Surasak under Phra Khanong BTS station and surrounded his silver Fortuner but the former military man wasn’t for giving himself up to the mob and smashed his way past more bikes to make his escape.

Khlong Tan police summoned Surasak in for questioning after a complaint was filed against him after he refused to surrender to the bikers who again caught up with him near Ekkamai BTS station.
He said he was afraid to speak to the bikers in fear of his life but cops weren’t buying his story and charged him with property damage and reckless driving.
