A Russian man commuted suicide by jumping from his eighth floor condo in Chiang Mai on Thursday night according to police reports.

Alexey Mikhaylov, 28, had been residing at the Casa Condo on Chotana Road for several months with his Russian wife and their six-year-old son. The dead mans wife told police she returned home on Thursday night to find her husband stressed due to personal issues and visa problems. She added he was also dependent on medication due to high levels of anxiety.

In her statement to police she said a short time after she returned to the room he went and stood out on the balcony before jumping off it.

He was rushed to Nakornping Hospital where he died as short time later. His injuries included broken legs and bleeding in the brain.

Police believed he committed suicide as there were no evidence to suggest foul play.
