Russians Partying On Koh Phangan Arrested

Seven Russians caught holding a late-night party at a house on Koh Phangan were arrested and charged with violating the emergency decree on Sunday night, according to police.

Following a complaint by local residents, police raided a two-storey house at Nai Wok village just after midnight where they found seven men and women dancing to loud music, drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.

Pol Col Pisit Wisetwong told reporters locals had complained to Koh Phangan district chief Poonsak Sophonpathumrat about a group of foreigners making a noise and playing loud music.

The Russian tourists were taken to Koh Phangan police station where they were charged with violating the emergency decree and using illegal drugs.
