Skint Swede Survives Double Suicide Attempt

A Swedish man said to have serious financial problems has survived two consecutive attempts to take his own life in a Phuket hotel on Sunday morning.

Lennart Sundstorm, 52, was found on the ground outside the Kata Green Beach Hotel at around 9am and was rushed to Patong Hospital having injured himself jumping from a third floor balcony.

Hotel staff told police the Swede had been staying alone and when officers went to check his room they found a large amount of blood on the floor and a pair of blood stained scissors which they believe he used to slash himself before jumping.

Skint Swede Survives Double Suicide Attempt

It was reported Mr Sundstorm had recieved funds from his home country but the amount was insufficient for his survival in Thailand causing serious stress that led to his suicide attempt.

Police said there were no signs of foul play and will question the Swede when he recovers from his injuries.
