Student Admits Shooting Aussie Man In Surat Thani

An 18-year-old student and two other men have been arrested in connection with the shooting of an Australian man last week In Surat Thani.

The student, who can’t be named for legal reasons, surrendered himself to police after he was made aware a warrant for his arrest had been issued.

He told investigators he took the job as a hitman as he owed a debt of gratitude to the man who hired him and that he was unaware who his target was. He claimed he was only told to kill a man who would be driving a Toyota Vios with Surat Thani license plate Koryor-6518.

The young gunman said he opened fire at the driver when he spotted the car and as he was about to fire for the second time to finish off the job, he realised his target was a foreigner and panicked. He then fled the scene leaving 64-year-old Edward Woodward with gunshot wounds to both arms.
